The Hoops for Hope girls basketball event was a true success. Two college scholarships were awarded and both were boys that are seniors in high school. Needless to say, they were surprised and thrilled.
Aryn's team won and she scored 24 points. She is on a roll! Below is one of the pictures taken by the newspaper.....she is the one in white! She plays hard all the time.
Jim and I got there at 11 am and didnt leave until 6:30. We were worn out and did nothing but sit all day...lol I will have to give my daughter Leigh, her credit. Everything ran smoothly and there was a good crowd all day, with no problems that I am aware of....she was co-chairman of the entire event.
I really have no other new news, so will head to church in a couple of hours to worship and thank my Lord.
When you pray, “Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done,” where are you praying that His will be done? “... on earth as it is in heaven” ?
Let me tell you something: God is going to be glorified here upon this earth. He is going to rule here on earth. Jesus Christ is literally, actually, visibly, bodily coming back to this earth. Do you believe that?
Do you think that Jesus Christ would have taught us to pray this prayer if it would not have been answered? His kingdom has not come yet on earth. His will is not being done on earth. But it shall be.
Hello Linda! Great new background! I need to check out Dani's designs - a new one to me!
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the phone call bringing bad news. Hope your SS teacher's husband came through the surgery okay. Always scary stuff!!
Congrats to Aryn and her team, and to her mom for doing such a great job with the fund raiser! I know the two boys who won scholarships will appreciate them!!
Hope you have had a good day!
Hi Linda... hope you've had a good day. You certainly had a long one yesterday. The things we go through for our children/grandchildren. But when they get old, they'll remember you were there to cheer them on.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do believe. What a glorious day that will be when HE comes through the clouds with all the saints to set up HIS kingdom on earth!
Thank you for the nice comment you left on my blog today. Sleep well.
Congrats to you a successful Hoops for Hope! That is so awesome that two scholarships were awarded! I do hate getting those early morning or late night phone calls. I remember when my father in-law was in the nursing home I was always afraid when the phone would ring and also when Lauren was away at college. My heart would just fall into my stomach when the phone would ring at an odd time. I hope everything went ok with your friend's husband's surgery:-)
