Went to see my sweet granddaughter, Caroline, in her music program at her school. It was so cute. It was just the first graders and they all wore their pajamas. Some of the songs I knew from my childhood (There was an old lady who swallowed a fly), and their actions are so cute. The girls really get into it, and a few of the boys....lol Caroline is very animated and had such fun.

Jim has to have another sleep study tonight as he didn't sleep enough last time for them to measure his actions. He isn't feeling well at all and I know all these tests, medicine changes, etc. is taking it's toll. I am trying very hard to be the upbeat cheerleader, but it is getting difficult.
Today being Ash Wednesday, I will share a funny that a good friend brought to my attention when she was telling me about her Friday meals during Lent.
I went to the Mardi Gras when I was a much younger woman, and my friend and I were walking down the streets of New Orleans on Ash Wednesday and couldn't figure out why so many people had dirt on their foreheads. Not being a Catholic or any church that celebrates this day with the cross of ashes, we didn't have a clue. I still didn't know until I got home and asked someone what was going on! So, if you do celebrate with the cross, God bless you on this special day.
Have a wonderful Wednesday
One of the secrets of life is to make stepping stones out of stumbling blocks.
I bet she was adorable in her play. And I so agree with you - I am tired of gray days....
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to have the kids wear their PJs. That levels the 'playing field'. Everyone has PJs of some kind. My grandma used to tell a story about my mom's 1st grade 'play'. Grandma helped the teacher make white 'robes' for all the kids, so the ones who didn't have nice clothing, wouldn't feel bad. Down here, all elementary schools have to wear uniforms, probably for the same reason as the white robes.
ReplyDeleteSure hope the sleep test will work for Jim this time. It didn't work for Joe, when they had him do it. He wasn't invited back, though!
We Catholics don't "have" to get ashes. It's not a Holy Day of Obligation. I haven't gone in years, actually, but Joe usually makes it during the day. I have a lunch meeting today, so can't go at noon. Going later seems crazy, since I'm just going home to wash the makeup off and put my PJs on. I observe the 'no meat' and certainly think about the start of our Lenten season. I don't need to be marked to be reminded that I will return to ashes. I'm well aware of it! It's a nice tradition, but not one I grew up with.
Wishing you a good rest of the day!!
I love to go watch our grandsons in their school programs. They are so cute. My youngest, age 5, is also very animated and gets his whole body into it. It's adorable.
ReplyDeleteSorry your hubby is having a hard time with these tests and his meds. I wish him well.
I know what you mean about the dark gloomy days. I'm ready for spring.
You have a good day.
Looks like the kids had a blast!
ReplyDeleteSorry Jim is not feeling well prayers for brighter days and restful nights.
I know your grand children smile a lot so you must be really thankful!
:-) God bless!
