Hope you will have a good week ahead. No plans here. One daughter and one of her daughters left yesterday for a basketball showcase in New Orleans. Her other daughter is staying with her sister, my other daughter, for a couple of days, before she goes to her other grandmother. Are you confused on daughters and granddaughters yet? I stay that way!
My daughter in law decided not to take the job she went for the interview for this past Friday. There is just too much travel involved, and uncertainty. With her little boy going into kindergarten and her daughter going to a different school, it would put too much on my son and his business. It just wasn't the right job for her, so she will continue to look locally.
Jim is having another 'down' time, so if you would say a little prayer for him, I would appreciate it.
Our Pastor's son brought the messages yesterday morning and again last night at church. The message last night was about prayer, and from Daniel 6:1-11. Then he and another gentleman sang my favorite song, 'Because He Lives'. I was so filled with the Spirit hearing that.
The Pattern for Prayer:( vs10)
Find a place
Have a humble spirit
Set a time
Have a plan
**********
God sent His Son
They called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal and forgive
He lived and died to buy my pardon
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives
Because He lives I can face tomorrow
Because He lives all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living just because He lives
And then one day
I'll cross that river
I'll fight life's final war with pain
And then as death gives way to vict'ry
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know he lives
They called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal and forgive
He lived and died to buy my pardon
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives
Because He lives I can face tomorrow
Because He lives all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living just because He lives
And then one day
I'll cross that river
I'll fight life's final war with pain
And then as death gives way to vict'ry
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know he lives
One of my favorites songs too - it makes my cry when I sing it. Praying for Jim right now.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me cry too, in thankfulness for He did for me.
ReplyDelete...for what He did for me.
DeleteI pause to pray for Jim right now.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you both,
Jackie
Thank you so much Jackie.
DeleteInclude my offered prayers, too, Linda. You and Jim are in my prayers daily. Extra today. Hope he feels better tomorrow! I'm about to get my 3rd cup of coffee for the day. An after lunch pick-me-up before a 2-hour meeting coming up.
ReplyDeleteThat is my favorite song too. I can't hear or sing it without tears. I'm glad you had a good service but anytime we can walk through the doors of our church is good... a freedom I pray we'll never lose.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about getting the body moving in the mornings. My routine consists of getting the coffee going, then I jump in the shower. That wakes me up, loosens the stiff muscles and gets me going. Without it I drag.
That's too bad your DIL couldn't take the job but she had to think of her family first. Hopefully she can find something local.
You and Jim are still in my prayers. Hope he does better.
You have a good evening. ♥
Prayers for your husband.
ReplyDeleteSaying prayers for Jim! Have a wonderful week, Linda!
ReplyDeleteI love coffee too! I don't "need" it, but I sure enjoy a cup or two every morning.
