Jim informed me, as we sat on the porch last evening, that I was officially old!  You gotta love hearing that, especially from your spouse, right?  NOT!  I simply made the statement that I was tired and had no energy.  He said I was going to have to admit it, like he had been made to accept it.  He said when we told him he had to use a cane, then a walker, then the wheelchair, he didn't want to hear that either, but he accepted it.  (Whispering, he is 10 years older than me....I am not old yet!)  LOL

I may not 'be old' but I sure do have a lot of aches and pains, as well as no energy and I plan to blame it all on the heat and summertime. Looking forward to cooler days already.

I received another card yesterday through 'Postcrossing' and it was from China.  There is a message written on the front, but it is in Chinese and I don't have a clue, and there was nothing written on the back.  If you can speak or read Chinese, tell me what it says.....

Aryn's basketball team won the tournament, "Battle of the Bayou" in New Orleans and they left immediately afterward heading north.  I left Jim's car out front for them and the lady they rode with brought them here and Leigh drove home.  I heard the doors shut at 1:07, so that wasn't so bad.  At least they can sleep late at home in their own beds this morning.  Congratulations to
TN Xtreme...way to go ladies!

My big events from yesterday are fill the car with gasoline (Ugh), take it to the car wash, and then have the oil changed.  Also, I bought new trays for my African Violets in the kitchen window and added 2 blue bottles in between the plants.  I need 3 more bottles, so will be on the lookout for those.  The sun comes in and the blue is so bright and pretty.

  1. I have two blue bottles in my window - If I could post a picture here, I would. I'm not willing to part with them yet though, they are antique bitters bottles and were my mother-in-laws. I hope you find some for your collection.

My mother always said "you're only as old as you think you are".

  2. Oh men and their big mouths! My husband hasn't said that one yet, but I'm sure it's in my future at some point...

  3. My hubby said something like that yesterday, but in a 'nicer' way... I was complaining that "I used to be able to do this", to which he replied... "you've never been this old before". Grrrr. :)
So glad to hear Aryn's team won the tournament. They've had a great season.
I love the blue glass in the window. It's beautiful when the sun hits it. I don't have any but if I see one I may be tempted.
    I hope you're having a great day. ♥

  4. Last week at Hobby Lobby the glass things were on sale for 50% off....I think there was some similar bottles to the lovely ones in your photo. I look at age this way....everyone is going to be old sometime or the other alternative. I am feeling much better and about to get out in the fresh air for a bit. Have a nice day!

  5. I agree with Ruth, Linda, if you have Hobby Lobby near and can get to it during Jim's therapy session. They have everything, and the prices are really good.

Fantastic news that Aryn's team won the tournament! Wow!!!

My Joe is 14 years older than me. He says he married a younger woman so I could take care of him, but he takes care of me more often than me caring for him! LOL

We got to Naples just fine. Only hit rain twice and it wasn't bad at all. We've Been to dinner (Red Lobster) and are now too full to do anything else. We may watch a movie later....

  6. My husband and I felt drained today, too - - and the heat & humidity were less than they have been. However, we have had company this week and I think we are just worn down cuz we aren't that old yet either! I found some pretty blue glass like yours at a second-hand store in Copperhill, TN but that's farther than you want to go - - plus wouldn't be as economical as Hobby Lobby. I like them. They close on Sunday so families can worship.

  7. I think Perrier water comes in blue bottles and some wines. I seem to recall one called Liebfrau-milch or something like that. If you're like me and don't drink you can serve it to guests. I collect emerald green glass vases and have the top of the bookshelves lined with them. Of course, they don't get the light shining through like they would sitting in the window. I find that I can only go so long before I run out of energy and then it takes a day or two to recover.
