Postcrossing, thus the old timey mailbox as my heading today......check it out:
I did find out at the post office that all countries other than the USA, cost the same for a postcard, so that helps to know what I am investing. The cost of a picture postcard varies.....I found some with pictures of my city, etc. for 50 cents each. This will be fun and the cost is minimum, so if you are interested, check out the website. It is 'free' and easy to begin.
We had some pretty heavy thunderstorms yesterday afternoon with hail and beating rain. We have a tin roof on this house and sometimes it sounds good and sometimes it is almost scary when it beats so hard.
I want to recommend another web site.
If you are interested in home Bible study, I highly recommend:
You do have to sign up, but it is free, you can just sign up and listen. I am listening to the study of 2 Timothy now and there is so much I have missed, that I am learning right now. You can pick and choose the book you want to study.
When I was listening yesterday, the speaker was beginning and said, "Crack the door of your heart"! I loved that because we can sometimes listen to TV or radio or even someone speaking and it flies right over our heads but if we 'crack the door to our heart' we can absorb so much more.
My family is all coming for a celebration of the 4th of July - IF THE STORMS LEAVE THIS AREA! If we do get to gather, everyone brings food and I am going to make potato salad and this bread, that many of you have seen on FB or Pinterest.
Fiesta Bubble Bread
*****
1/2 c. butter, melted
1-1/2 c. shredded Mexican-blend cheese
1/4 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
10-oz. jar sliced jalapeño peppers, drained
1 t. dried parsley
2-12-oz. tubes refrigerated biscuits, cut into quarters
In a large bowl, combine butter, cheeses, pepper slices and parsley; add biscuits and toss to coat. Transfer to an ungreased Bundt pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until golden. Invert onto a serving plate; serve warm.
It is simple/easy, and I love anything like that!
I love the vintage mail box! Enjoy your postcards - I think it sounds like a great hobby! Do keep us posted on who meet along the way.
ReplyDeleteI like the old mail box too. The postcards sound like fun. I'm still having problems finding any that shows pictures of my town. We used to be able to find them everywhere but I guess they figure there wasn't enough interest in using them.
ReplyDeleteI have seen the recipe for this bread but I'd have to leave out the jalapeño peppers since my stomach will not handle things like that. I hope your's is a big success.
Have a good day, Linda. ♥
Carol, it could be postcards of your State or just the USA in general. On the site, they said people like to know about 'YOU, your recipes, your town or state' or just anything that would be interesting. As for the jalapeno's, I have to cut way back on them too...1 or 2 is all I can handle in that whole big loaf of bread. I had thought about just using bell peppers too. Hope your Tuesday is a good one!
DeleteThe postcard hobby sounds so cool! I am going to checkout the website. I can't get over how cheap it is :-)
ReplyDeleteThe recipe sounds yummy! I did sign up for the postcard thing, but haven't done anything yet. Keep us 'posted' on your progress!! I also bookmarked that Bible study site awhile back when you mentioned it. I am reading the 365 days Bible right now. I have to say that I really have trouble with the Old Testament... genealogies, wars, covenants broken and text that is just hard to plow through. Sigh. The New Testament is not nearly as difficult. Thanks for reminding me about the link again!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog background and your header, Linda...very pretty!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you are enjoying the postcard exchange. Sounds like a lot of fun...and informative.
Hugs to you,
Jackie
