Good Monday morning, and here's hoping you have a wonderful day and week ahead.
The first part of our week is going to be busy with doctor appointments. Today, we go to have Jim's Coumadin level checked with a PT (prothrombin time - blood test for clotting time). Then tomorrow we have two appointments - one at the pain clinic and the other with the primary care doc. The physical therapist is going to wait and come on Wed., Thurs. and Fri. He believes that Jim is getting somewhat stronger and I do too.
He (Jim, not the therapist, lol) went to church with me last night and not in the wheelchair, but using the walker. I was shocked, but of course pleased, that he, one, wanted to go, and two, was able to make it with just using the walker. He hasn't wanted to do anything for so long now, it was a happy thing. God is so good. He surprises us at times, and I am thankful to Him for any little gift.
The rest of the week remains to be seen, but I do know that the rain is slowing down and the percentage that is predicted is much lower, Praise the Lord! There is a big field across the street from our house, and it looks like a lake right now, so hopefully it will begin to recede this week.
About the only thing really liking this rain is my one and only hanging basket on the front porch. It is blooming it's little heart out! (Southernism!)
I will leave you now with a smile............THE JOYS OF WOMANHOOD!
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst, for they are sticking to their diets.
Life is an endless struggle full of frustrations and challenges,
but eventually you find a hairstylist you like.
You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair
that you once got from a roller coaster.
Time may be a great healer, but it's also a lousy beautician.
Age doesn't always bring wisdom. Sometimes age comes alone.
I don't mind the rat race, but I could do with a little more cheese.
Age is important only if you're cheese or wine.
The only time a woman wishes she were a year older is when she is expecting a baby.
Freedom of the press means no-iron clothes.
I love that header picture!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy Jim was able to go with you last night - that's a huge blessing.
Wonderful news that Jim is gaining back some strength and was able to get out last night, without the wheelchair! That view of Chattanooga's bridges is amazing. Love your hanging basket in bloom! The joys of womanhood...true and made me chuckle! Wishing you a good evening and Tuesday, Linda!
ReplyDeleteTerri, if you look on the left side of the picture, the white bldg. right on the edge, is Hunter Museum...you have been there....:-)
DeleteGreat news about Jim! And I love this one - Time may be a great healer, but it's also a lousy beautician. Isn't that the truth? sandie
ReplyDeleteLove the one liners... they gave me cause for a chuckle!!!
ReplyDeleteI speak "Southernism"...and I understood perfectly!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that your flowers love the showers. I'm thinking that the grass and fields and flowers are in heaven right now. It seems that it is raining everywhere!
I'm so glad that Jim was able to go to church...and that he used his walker. I know that he is pleased. That will go a long way in his progress...his knowledge that he can do this!! I'm so proud for him. Continued prayers...for a good doctor's report. Sending you both hugs, my friend.
Love,
Jackie
It's so good to hear that Jim felt good enough to go to church with you last night. I'm praying his strength will continue to improve and he will get good reports from his doctors.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing pictures of your area. I especially like this one of the Delta Queen.
I think we're all hoping the rains will let up a bit. It's good to have rain in the summer months, but when it comes to the flooding, not good.
Your flowers are so pretty. They do like the rain and warm sunshine. I speak Southernism too and I was born in Ohio. Go figure. LOL
Your one-liners are cute. Gave me a good chuckle. You take care. ♥
