THURSDAY!

I know I sound like a broken record sometimes, but I do love my church and church family.  Our Pastor's son, who has also been called of God to preach, brought the message last night and it was very good.  He is such a great young man, friends with everybody, smart, good speaker, just what God needs to give out His message. He is attending Bible College right now.  His message was from Psalm 4, "Standing in Awe of God."  He challenged us to read this Psalm this coming Sunday morning before we go to church.

7 DAYS OF INSPIRATION--------Take one a day and feel great all week!
Day 1 - You are a blessing and blessed.
Day 2 - Some of the best paths in life are completely unexpected.
Day 3 - You deserve no less than the best.
Day 4 - Hope is still free!
Day 5 - Why talk yourself out of success when you can talk yourself into it!
Day 6 - Your Dreams are blueprints for a beautiful future.
Day 7 - Let your inner light out.  Smile!  :-)

I received my first post card yesterday from the 'postcrossing' site I joined.  It is from Hong Kong and sounds like it is a young lady.  She wrote that she was a student.  She has no brothers for sisters or no pets. She uses the computer to watch TV programs and loves 'J-pop' music.

It is going to be so much fun and so interesting to learn about people all over the world.  You would have thought I won the lottery when I received the card, I was so excited.  It works!  I highly recommend the site if you are interested or have the time.  It takes about 5 minutes to write a card, and the costs is minimal - $1.10 for countries abroad, anywhere, and $.33 cents for the USA.  I have created a folder on my computer for cards received and will be posting as they come.

I am going to visit my daughter who lives on Signal Mtn. today.  That sounds like I am going on an extended trip, but for those who know anything about Chattanooga, TN, you know it is just an area of our city.  We are surrounded by 3 mountains and a large ridge, and Signal is one of those mountains.  Jim is better and can manage for a couple of hours by himself, so she invited me to come have lunch.

I wish you a happy, healthy Thursday.

  2. Amazing... I didn't realize the city laid in a valley like that. It's beautiful. I love the scenery in TN. Living in NW Ohio it's all flat land, we can see barns miles away. lol
Hope you have a great time with your daughter. It's good for you to have a chance to have some "me" time.
I'm going to check out the postcrossing too.

  3. I am so glad to hear you are able to get out for awhile. I know you enjoyed it!! My old boss, Dan's house has a view of Signal Mountain from their balcony, and Cathy takes a photo every day, from the same spot, and then publishes it as a slide show at the end of each month. It is interesting to see the trees and other foliage change as the seasons progress. Chattanooga is a beautiful city!
