DEAR OLD GOLDEN RULE DAYS!

One of my daughters pointed out that this is the last weekend before it all begins again, and here in Tennessee, that is true. Seems like it gets earlier and earlier every year.  And golden rule days......long gone. My 6 grandchildren are all ready though and seem to be looking forward to a new school year.

Jesse

My precious grandson (he is the only boy out of the 6 grands) got his hair cut yesterday and looks so 'grown' up now....

The youngest of the 6 also begins and she and her family had one last outing before it all starts. They went zip-lining!

Grayce moves from elementary school to middle school and she and her sister, Aryn, will be in the same big school.

And now the fun begins!

My prayer for all the children going back to school is that it is a happy experience, they learn something new that will help them as they become productive adults in our society.

If you were the one going back to school, could you answer this?

  1. Our children (and me) don't go back to school here in Michigan until the Tuesday after Labor Day. So we still get to enjoy some more summer. If I could send a message to my younger self I guess I would tell myself to "Speak up"....I was always a timid child and I think I missed out on a lot because of it. I like your fall school bus picture above.

  2. Save money! Those are the two words I would write to myself.

Your grandchildren are all beautiful and so talented!! I love seeing your photos of them and their activities! It is hard to believe that summer is nearly over, and school is starting again. We have a week longer than you, I think. Our kids go back on the 19th.

Wishing you a good Friday and weekend, Linda! Love & hugs.

  3. It does get earlier here in Ga. Some schools have already started back, its strange to see the school bus going through the neighborhood so soon. Most will not start till Monday.

When I was in school, we did not go back till after Labor Day and we were by that time looking forward to it.

Note to self in two words; Pay attention.

  4. Great pictures. Pierce starts first grade on the 12th. I can't believe how fast the summer has gone.

  5. You have beautiful grand kids! I can't believe school is starting again. It doesn't start here until after labor day.
My note to self - be yourself!

  6. Your grands are so cute/pretty. I hope this school year for each is fun and rewarding. Our children get a little more summer here. They don't start back until Aug.20th.
The note I'd write to myself ...... study harder. I didn't like school and got through with only doing the necessary. I never really studied. Now I regret it. I could have done so much better.

  9. I love reading about your Grands..and seeing their photos.
I, too, have the one Male Grand amongst the Females. Love it!
Your Grandchildren are precious. I pause and pray for each one as they begin school this year. May the Lord watch over them and guide them.
    Love,
    Jackie
