FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

I know school starts at different times all around our country, but today is the day here in Chattanooga, TN. I bet lots of households were up and at 'em earlier than usual.  The little girls hair must just be perfect.  The outfit was chosen weeks ago and it has to look perfect as well.  Not sure about the little boys....probably have the right tennis shoes and book bags.  I just pray that all goes well in every house, every school around the area.

At church yesterday, we had a baptism after a good Sunday School lesson and worship service.  Then I came home and we had boiled shrimp, macaroni salad and homemade pineapple ice cream.  I love my Cuisinart ice cream maker....it takes approximately 30 minutes and all you do is pour the mixture in and turn it on, and it is ready when you finish your meal.  And if there is any left, it freezes well....the ice cream, not the maker!  lol

Nothing planned for this week.  We have a wedding shower to attend next Saturday.  It is at a relatives house close by and provided no rain, it will be a BBQ outside.

Marilyn Monroe(Actress) died on (Sunday) August 5, 1962.
(I knew you would want to know!  lol)

Guess I will leave you now, and start the day doing what I seem to do every other day of the week, laundry!

  1. School doesn't start here until after Labor Day. August sounds so early!
You ice cream maker sounds wonderful, but dangerous for me to have around. :)

  2. I love your background. Our kids aren't going back until the 22nd. I know most mothers are happy and their daily schedules will change. The after school activities will have Mom meeting herself coming and going. I don't know how some of them do it.
I have an electric ice cream maker just like your's. You've made me want to get mine out now. If I ate ice cream like I want I'd be 300 lbs. I love it.
I hope you and your laundry have a good day. :) My laundry basket is calling me too. A never-ending chore. ♥

  3. You work and change your blog all the time - I love it , but it takes a lot of time and work doesn't it?

I want an ice cream maker!

You had a good day. :)

    1. No Sandie, I retired years ago, and my work now is at home, taking care of me and Jim....which is work, believe me...lol Yes, I change my blog every day....I love the challenge. Every day I usually find a picture that I think would make a good heading, so save it in a folder for later use. It is just 'my thing' to change it.

  6. Our kids don't go back until the 19th. I remember starting after Labor Day, back in the day! Doesn't seem like the kids get an entire summer to have fun anymore.

I love my ice cream maker, but don't always remember to stock the necessary ingredients (heavy cream, for one). Yum, though!

I blog about it every Sunday - my laundry day. I do 4-5 loads all during the day on Sunday. If we have Sunday plans, I do it on Saturday. I just can't get myself to drop in a load a few times during the week, after work.

Hope the weather holds for the wedding shower! A BBQ outside sounds like a great time! Is Murphy cooking?
