Several of my friends are spending the Labor Day weekend at the beach.  This holiday usually ends the summer vacations and they want one last fling!  I seriously doubt they will see any of the bathing beauties that are on my title picture today!  One thing I can say for the old days, at least their bodies were covered.

I want to share a blessing.  Went to the Dollar General store to get milk, bread and eggs.  Jim was in the car and handed me the Visa card to use.  Got up to the check out and the lady said the machine wouldn't take a Visa card for some reason, and I turned to take the items back to the shelves.  The lady behind me opened her wallet and put a $10.00 bill on the counter and said 'I will pay for it!"  I said 'no, no, I will just go out to the car and get the cash'.  She said, 'no, I will pay, and YOU pay it forward!'  Did not know her, have never seen her before or since.  I teared up because there are really good people left in this old nasty world.  Leigh, my oldest daughter said, 'Mom, you are going to have to put a 'ten spot' in the offering plate!'  I did and am still going to "pay it forward' as well.

Aryn's volleyball team is in a tournament today, but I am not going....my back and legs are 'screaming' at me, and I need to 'nurse' them.  Her little sister, Grayce, runs cross country and she came in 30th out of 140 runners!  She is definitely on her way up to the top!

Jim and I just stayed home most of the day yesterday.  The only time we were out is to go buy the ingredients to make homemade ice cream.  We made vanilla and it was better than the last batch!

  2. Sorry to hear you're aching. I hope you feel better soon. ~ Love the old pic! I too miss the old days of covering up. These girls might as well be naked at the beach anymore. It's really kinda gross, and I'm no prude. ~ What a kind thing for the lady to do. It would be a much better world if we where all a little kinder. Doesn't have to be money, just smiling, saying nice things, etc. That's Christianity in action. ~ Hope y'all have a happy weekend! ~:)

  3. God bless that lady. The Lord saw fit to use her that day to bless you. ** The girls are doing so well in their sports. ** I love homemade vanilla ice cream. Sounds so good right now. It's another hot, humid day. I should have gotten some buckets of ice cream for the party this afternoon. ** Maxine is so funny. I also have that 50-50 body. LOL
You have a good day and nurse those sore joints. Take care. ♥

  4. Linda, I have that 50/50 body too! LOL Maxine hits the nail on the head every time! Your granddaughters are great athletes. Sorry your aches & pains are keeping you in, but it is good to have some time to relax. God bless the woman who paid it forward. You made her day, as she made yours..and when you pay it forward, someone else will be equally blessed! We are getting a late start here, but it is a good late start! Love & hugs!

  5. I love your picture for today! You're right about them being covered up. I wouldn't mind wearing something like that myself. :)
The lady at the store was so sweet. That's a reminder to me to pay it forward too!
