Good Sunday morning! Is it good where you are? It is 67 degrees and sunny. Couldn't be much better!
Yesterday Jim and I took a drive to a little town south of us in Georgia. I always take the back roads because you see much more than flying down an interstate. This little town is in the valley below Lookout Mtn. and has a hang gliding park. There are chalets, rustic cabins, and areas for camping, etc. there. On good days, you can see the gliders coming down from Lookout and it is a pretty sight!
I am sure hang gliding is a fun activity for the brave, but I have a horrific fear of heights so it wouldn't be my 'cup of tea'. This park is about 15 miles from the farm we lived and reared our children on for over 20 years and we enjoy taking the memory trip back there.
Jim isn't feeling well at all this morning. He got up and said 'I am just sick'. I asked what I could do and he said 'take me back about 30 years'. Please remember him in prayer.
You know where I am going this morning - church.
My granddaughter's volleyball team won 1st place in the Silver Division at the tournament yesterday! She is on the left in front kneeling! (She plays the position of libero which is a defensive specialist position in indoor volleyball. The position was added to the game in 1999 along with special rules for play in order to foster more digs and rallies and to make the game more exciting. The libero remains in the game at all times and is the only player not limited by rules of rotation. He/she usually replaces the middle blocker position when they rotate to the back row and never rotates to the front row.)
I wish you a blessed day and hope you are able to go to the church of your choice. Christ is coming one day soon and I am looking toward the Eastern sky in anticipation!
Good morning from a crisp 48* NY! Your drive sounds lovely..I personally love Cades Cove in the fall..however, all of that region is quite lovely! I will be praying for Jim and you as well. I am a little under the weather myself,so I will not be attending service this morning. I do believe your right, Linda, I do believe Christ will be coming back sooner than later. Thank you for posting this. Lovely pics btw. Blessings
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon....not fun being 'puny'! Yes, Cades Cove or anywhere over that way is beautiful in the fall. Here as well....the colors take my breath away.
DeleteBTW-Duh, I forgot..thanks for the cute little count down linky. That is so cute!! I said to myself,"I HAD TO HAVE ONE!" Also, my son loves your pic/header today. He is a lover of anything "abstract". I will have to take pics soon, the colors are changing here, subtle, but they are changing.
ReplyDeleteI confess that I would like to go hand gliding, but am not sure I will ever really do it!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Linda. Hang gliding does look like fun. Perhaps (if I could go back 30 years) at one time I might have had fun trying it. I'm not afraid of heights, but I am afraid of breaking bones!!
ReplyDeleteIt is so good to read that you and Jim got to go out and about for a few hours. I know you treasure the good days, and am sorry he is feeling bad again today. He remains in my prayers, as do you! Have a blessed day!
PS---congrats to Aryn's team for winning 1st place! I know that team is happy to have her on their side! She is a great athlete!
ReplyDeleteThe view of the landscape is pretty, but I'm with you.... that's too high in the sky for me. I shiver just looking at pictures.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for Aryn and her team. We played indoor volleyball in school, but it's evolved into a more professional game with new terms that I'd be lost trying to figure out what's going on. I applaud all the girls.
Jim is still in my prayers, as well as you. Take care, my friend. God bless. ♥
We had a wonderful service this morning. Because I have to work every other week, I really enjoy being able to make it to church on my weekends off!
ReplyDeleteLike you, hang gliding isn't my thing - it's far to high! Glad you had a nice day yesterday, but sorry Jim isn't feeling well today. I'll be praying for him, and you too.
My heart tugs when I read Jim's words, Linda.
ReplyDeleteI wish there was something more that I could do.
I do pray for him. Please, let him know that he is being lifted up by many many people.
Sending you both hugs and love,
Jackie
