I'M BACK!!!!

First of all, thank you for your prayers, I appreciate each and every one and I know the Lord heard. Secondly, I did not leave a comment on the blogs for the past couple of days, but I did read each one and enjoyed staying in touch that way.

To let you know what I will be facing in the next few weeks, I have an appointment with the hand specialist on September 25 for xrays, etc.  He did the surgery on my right hand and I have not had one single problem with it, so of course chose him to do the left.

What happens is that the cushion in between the joints in my thumb wears out and he takes a piece of cartilage from my wrist, rolls it up and puts between the joint and as it part of my body, it fits right in and works!  Right now, it is very painful to open a jar, pull out a drawer, hold a glass in my hand or anything else....it is like when you have worn out the cushion in your knee and it must be replaced....it is bone on bone rubbing against the nerves and making pains shoot up my hand and arm.

Then, I finally got a call back from the ortho doctor that does my epidurals.  He was out of the office yesterday and will be again today, but I talked to his nurse and she looked at the schedule and said it would be the first or second week in October before he could do anything.  She will talk to him tomorrow and call me with what he says.  I guess my back and legs just will have to hurt and I will have to put up with it til then.

My UT VOLS won last weekend, and my all time favorite quarterback (Peyton Manning) threw for 7 touchdowns with the Denver Broncs!

We managed to take Jim to the doctor yesterday and the Dr. could tell he was better.  He suggested several things to eat that might help him gain some muscle and strength back.  One thing was whey....do any of you use it, and if so, how?  The Dr. says he has it every morning....mixes in skim milk and drinks.  He said we could do it that way and even add ice cream to give Jim more calories.  I bought 1 package of vanilla and 1 of chocolate before I bought the big container, to see if Jim would drink it.

I did go to the Ladies Banquet at my church on Saturday and it was very nice.  I was in pain, so needless to say, I was anxious for it to be over, but the organizers did a fantastic job.  The theme was "The Bride of Christ" and you can see why some of the decorations are there........

 Before the banquet began!

The wedding cake was delicious, along with the bbq, slaw,
little red potatoes, green beans and rolls.
 Door prizes!
These are real wedding dresses from some of the ladies in the church.

The last 3 pictures are of the game we played, using toilet paper, ribbon, to make a wedding dress, and the winner was chosen and it was really a fun time.  Amazing what you can do with toilet paper! We also had door prizes and I won one containing shower gel, a massager and net scrubber!

I will leave you now and wish you a happy Tuesday.

  1. Good morning, Linda! It is so nice to see you posting again! I will continue to pray for you and Jim. Prayer is the best medicine! I hope your doctor's office calls back today and tells you that they can get you in before October. I would hate to see you have to deal with this pain for that long. Happy to hear that that the VOLS won this weekend! I loved the pictures of the Ladies Banquet. What a beautiful job they did with the decorating and everything else that went into it! Looks like everyone had a great time..I love all the smiles!

  3. Hi Linda! So glad to have you back. I missed you these past couple of days. You know me- three days and I'll be dialing the phone! Hugs & love & prayers continue!

The luncheon looks like it was lots of fun and well attended! Congrats on winning a door prize! That's always fun, too! Your Vols won, and our Eagles won last night! Whoohooo!!

I've never had whey, but am curious now. Will have to look it up and see about including it in our diets. Keep us posted with your experience there!

  5. Good morning Linda.... I was so happy to see you had a post today. I have missed you. It's good your doctors are there for you. I can imagine now why your hand hurts so bad. Hope they can fix it soon. ** I've never eaten/drank whey like that. I know it's an ingredient in a lot of our foods. It's a protein so I hope your Hubby likes it. ** The ladies banquet room was so pretty. I've played that toilet paper game and it is a lot of fun.
    Have a good day. {{{hugs}}}

  7. I'm so sorry to hear about your continuing pain. I went through a lot of that in years past with various physical ailments. Thank goodness you'll get all this out of the way before ObamaCare kicks in! After January, we'll all be considered "unimportant" because of our ages and left to our own devices. God is indeed looking out for y'all.

I would love to be on an ice cream diet but not for your Hubby's reason. I need to lose about 40 pounds. [sigh]

The banquet looks nice. I'll bet the food was heavenly as was the message. God's word is the best "food" of all, isn't it. :)

Prayers of healing for you both. Best wishes. ~:)
