Woke up to very cool temps this morning.  Yesterday was the first day of fall, so I guess it is time to turn off the ceiling fans and re-set the central unit temps. Love it!

The American Queen came to Chattanooga yesterday.  The largest steamboat ever built, the American Queen is a gracious and elegant example of American ingenuity. This beautiful lady of the river epitomizes the grace and grandeur that has made the steamboat such a cherished American tradition. The American Queen combines the old and the new, glistening woodwork and opulent interior spaces make the journey a rich experience for the passengers who will tour two mighty rivers, the Mississippi River and the Tennessee River, beginning in Chattanooga, and disembarking in St. Louis.

Speaking of ships, my latest postcard came from Lelystad in the Netherlands.  She said the harbour had many sailing ships and the replica of a famous ship, Batavia.

Church day for us so had better close and wake up the better half so that we can eat something and hit the road.

Ephesians 2:8-9For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

  3. I'd love to take a trip on the American Queen. I first heard about it from a friend that would go down about every year for the ride and she said it was so much fun.
Your postcard from the Netherlands is interesting. You've made it sound like so much fun, getting cards from all over the world.
Hope you had a good morning in church. ♥

  5. Very pretty! Nice postcard too. We don't have any ceiling fans, no where to put them, this old house doesn't have any ceiling fixtures. Blessings

  6. That would be fun to take a steamboat ride. It looks relaxing and would have bathrooms readily available. Always a plus at my age. *lol*

  7. I love LOVE the feel of fall in the air; I, too, felt the cooler temperatures, and I loved it!
It's raining right now....but it should clear up tomorrow. I'm wondering what the temp will be then?
    Sending you smiles, Linda....

  8. Another interesting post card!! Do you continue to correspond with those folks, or is it just a post card?

We have a rainy day today - another rainy day. Sigh.

I've always wanted to take a river boat down the Ohio to the Mississippi River. Looked into it once - oh my gosh, is it ever expensive! Much more than a cruise on the ocean. But wouldn't it be fun?!!

    1. You can continue to correspond with the people if you want to. I am not looking for 'pen-pals', just like to see parts of their country, etc. So I get a card, then send a card, and it goes back and forth. Got two more today, 1 from Cleanwater, FL and the other from Taiwan.
