Good morning and it is. We were told we were going to have severe thunderstorms and possible hail last night and as far as I can tell, not a drop dropped and the sun is out and the sky is blue this morning, so that makes it good.
We had absolutely wonderful morning and evening church services yesterday. The church over-flowed, the music was so so good and the message our Pastor brought was very convicting. God is working in our midst.
We have two school buses and two vans that are used in our bus ministry. Praise the Lord, we were given a 23 passenger, air conditioned transit van. We have a large group of 'prime-timers' and we take lots of trips and needed a more comfortable van instead of the school buses. We have been working to make the money to buy one and were about half way through and we were given one!!! An example is below---
God is good. All the time.
Praise the Lord I actually slept from 10 PM til 7 AM and only woke up once. I haven't slept more than 2-3 hours at night for over a week and I am so thankful last night was different. I feel so much better too.Only one doctor appointment this week, so maybe we can get caught up on things around here. Our front porch needs attention seriously and our son is going to scrap the paint off and re-paint, wash all the furniture, and trim the shrub right in front of the porch. I have a new little table with 2 chairs to put on it for early or late coffee time. I want some yellow mums to put on the table and on a tree stump in front yard...that spells fall to me!
A thought..............
Somebody said, “They’re praising God on Sunday, but they’ll be all right on Monday. It’s just a little habit they’ve acquired.” That’s what the world says when they watch us on Monday.
Don’t forget that every day is a holy day, every place is a hallowed place, and every deed is a sacred deed. “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3:23-24).
Wouldn’t it be great if we could prove them wrong and make Monday just as holy as Sunday?
Wow - that's an awesome gift to your church! How wonderful that the senior ministry will thrive now! So glad you didn't get the predicted storm last night! Your front porch will be just lovely. I miss having a front porch, but am so glad I grew up with a front-porch-mentality!!
ReplyDeletePraise God daily!! It is unfortunate that there are still so many weekend Christians. You are right about that. Pray, pray, pray!!
Wishing you a good week, with more nights of good sleep!
What a wonderful gift to the church!
ReplyDeleteGood morning! Awesome news on the church front. Not a Miley fan either. Storming here in upstate NY, an understatement. Under severe threats for today. Have a blessed Monday.
ReplyDeleteI love the coffee cups in your header. Those are cute. I don't like Miley either. I'd think her daddy should be ashamed of her.
ReplyDeleteThe church was given a van? That is wonderful! God is so good.
I'm happy to hear you were able to sleep last night. The storms missed us too. But my heart goes out to all those around us who are homeless today because of tornadoes.
I love yellow mums and a little table on the porch for coffee breaks is perfect. I wish I had a porch.
Hope you have a great day.
What a wonderful gift for your church!
ReplyDeleteI have to say I've had it with Miley. I saw her on something again this morning, wearing shorts that were barely there. I was at work and one of young aides said - be thankful that at least she has something on! Even the college kids are sick of her.
What a beautiful Scripture reminder - thank you for sharing that. So great about your new church van! God is wonderful!
