Relating to everything that is happening in our world today, the Scripture for last night's worship service is very fitting ---
Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
We can't do it ourselves, as that has been shown, so if would go to the source of all things and depend on Him, we could have peace.
In several of the verses, the term Selah is at the end. Do you know what that means? In addition to being used in music, it also means "stop and listen", and I think our Congress, as well as our President, should certainly "stop and listen" to the people.
Tonight Aryn's volleyball team plays in the sub-State tournament. Of course if they win this one, they will be headed to Nashville, TN to the State tournament. Should be a fun game tonight. We will be there tonight, cheering them on.
Yesterday was "50's/60's Day" in the homecoming week. Grayce looked so cute in her poodle skirt and Aryn decided on being a hippie!
My son, Murphy, got a part time job for next week. A friend of his has a small painting company, and they are going to begin painting a house, and he told Murphy he could certainly use the help for a few days. In the meantime, he has applied for several jobs. Praise the Lord. He makes all things good, in His time.
I leave you this morning with rules for sitting on that newly painted porch of mine ---
Sure wish I could join you on that front porch, Linda!! Ahhhhhhhhh......
ReplyDeleteThe girls look fabulous in their 50s/60s outfits. I had a poodle skirt when I was a pre-teen. Red, with a white poodle. Loved it.
Keep us posted on the volleyball game! How exciting for Aryn and her team!
Have a blessed Thursday!
The girls look so cute! I am partial to the 50's over the 60's - poodle skirts and saddle shoes you know!
ReplyDeleteI like your porch sign. It sounds perfect.
Love the porch sign! The girls look so cute, congrats to your son. Also, the gvt. is not listening to us-or should I say "extremist" as the president just called us. Sad, sad, sad...blessings
ReplyDeleteThe girls look very cute. I love Grayce's poodle skirt. I also had one. I loved mine so much I think Mom got tired of washing it. Every time she turned around it was in the laundry. I could have been like the little girl in the washer commercial, sitting on the floor waiting for the dryer to stop. hehehe
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the Lord has bigger and better things ahead for Murphy. But all in His good timing. Praying for him and his family.
How thankful Murphy must be to at least have the part time employment. My heart rejoices with him. I'm sure God will open the door to bigger and better things. Everything in His time, 'ey?
ReplyDeleteThe girls did look adorable. I grew up in the 50's & 60's. The outfits look very accurate. Who knew our look back then would one day be retro? [ha ha]
Nice porch sign. I should make one for our front porch. ~:)
Hoping that the game tonight was a good one (and that Aryn's team won.)
ReplyDeleteLove the 50's look....so much fun to dress in that time period!
Praises for answered prayer regarding Murphy's job. I know that he will do a fine job..and am thankful for the opportunity that he has. Part-time or not...it is a job. Thank you, Lord for taking care of him.
Sending you and yours a hug this evening.
Love,
Jackie
