If your parents are still alive, thank them. At some point the child becomes the parent, and the parent becomes the child.  I haven't reached that point yet, but know it is coming soon.

Good morning to all.  I pray you are well and looking forward to worship service this morning.  We are having our Homecoming/Friends Day at my church.  After the morning worship, we go to the activity building for lunch. Everyone brings the sides and desserts and the church furnishes the ham and turkey.  We cooked our beans, made the slaw and Jim made his cake, so we are ready.  After eating, we gather again in the sanctuary for a short service of special music, testimonies and a short thought from the Pastor.  We will not have a night service.

My hand.....is better, but not 100%.  I have no idea what I did to make it so painful yesterday.  Terri asked if my other hand hurt like this after I had that surgery, and the answer is no.  It has been over two weeks and the outside incision and bruising has done great, but the inside pain has been rough.  It feels like I am being shocked, which of course is the nerves.  Nothing I did seemed to ease that pain, so finally just took a pain pill and went to sleep.  Praying today and going forward will be better.

One of our granddaughters, Rayven, spent the night with us last night.  My son and his wife went to a birthday party of one of their friends, and Jesse was staying with a friend and his family.  Rayven is 14 and thinks she is 21....lol

I have gotten three cards from Postcrossing since I last included them in my blog.  They are from Finland, China, and Poland.

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.

  1. So glad your hand is feeling better. My niece is becoming a member of our church today so all the family will be there and we'll have lunch together afterward. Good day!

  2. Unfort..my mil has dementia..and it is often very difficult to deal with..and I have noticed changes in my parents as well. My mil is 69, my dad is 69 , my mom is 68, although my parents are very active. ANYWAYS..I can't wait to read/ hear about your day at church, hopefully you will be up to posting about the luncheon and the singing.

  3. You need to ask your doctor if the hand should feel that way, since you didn't have it with the other one.

  4. I was that child turned care-giver for my mother. It was a very stressful time, but I wouldn't have had it any other way.
It sounds like you'll a good day spending time with your church family. Hope you have a good time.
And praying your hand continues to heal with less pain.

  6. I am slowly catching up on blogs, not always leaving a message, but getting there. I'm so sorry this hand is giving you more pain than the other one did. Hopefully it just needs a little more time. Your church service sounds like it would be wonderful, so I look forward to hearing about it! Rayven is beautiful (as are all your grands). Glad you got some special time with her!

  7. I wonder if the weather changes coming in had anything to do with your pain. Oftentimes that will happen.
