Mmmmmmmmmm, first cup of coffee is especially good this morning for some reason.  I have changed from Dunkin' Donut brand to Seattle's Best and it is totally different, but very good.

My hand is much better and I have an appointment at 9:45 this morning and hopefully will have the dressing removed, as well as stitches.  Keep your fingers crossed, I can't cross mine - yet!  lol

Jim is the cook in our house.  Oh, I have done my share over the years, but if you want something to eat that is really good, he gets the prize.  We had one big sweet potato in the bin and he decided after we got home from church yesterday morning, to make a sweet potato pie. He knows that is one of my favorites, so he stirred the ingredients. When we came in from church last night, we cut it....WOW, it was the best ever!

He cooks like his Mother did....from his mind, not from a recipe, and it turns out good 99% of the time.  I can follow a written recipe and it turns out just okay 10% of the time!

Latest Postcrossing - from Russia.  It still amazes me when I get one from a really foreign country.  Without holding it, it is hard to tell the texture, but it is different.

This person said it was the first time she had ever written anyone from a country so far away.  We thought alike on this one, didn't we?  This scenery looks like it could be right here in Tennessee.  I don't know why I tend to think that other countries than the USA look like something from Mars....I know that isn't true.

Father, give me the courage to reach out to
those I may not want to reach. Show Your
love through me in ways that will bring glory
to You and true peace in my corner of the world.

  3. Hi Linda! I am anxious to hear that the stitches are out and the bandage is off you now fully healed and functioning hand!! Please God!! I sure wish Joe would cook - even now and then. He just agrees to go out, so I can't complain. That pie looks yummy, though! Love & hugs!

  4. Happy Monday, Linda...So glad to hear you may be getting your stitches removed today. You'll be able to cross your fingers soon. Will you have to go through some therapy, either personal or supervised?
Jim's pie looks delicious. You are blessed to have a man that knows how to cook and likes to do it. I wish Bob would cook sometimes. He's pretty good but doesn't seem to want to.
The post card from Russia is so pretty. And I love your photo in the header..... "eat pie". My favorite dessert. ♥

  6. My fingers where crossed, did your thumb repair do OK? *lol* Do hope you're 100% soon.

You must cook like I do! That's why Hubby does all the cooking. I'm a good cleaner upper. He's also more diplomatic than me but that's another story. :)

The postcard does resemble parts of Tennessee. Y'all have pretty landscape like we do. I'll always live in the South and nowhere's else.

    God bless. ~:)
