A tradition in our family on Christmas Eve is to go to the Krystal Restaurant and just have fun being together. Some of you already saw my 'selfie' on Facebook, but here are a some more...
People in the south know the Krystal, but up north or out west, may not. It is a chain of quickie hamburgers, and just about everyone down here has been there at least once and maybe more. They are square buns and meat, with pickles and onions and that's it! We started going almost as a joke rather than a big meal, and it has just stuck with us! We all eat so much heavy food, this just is different.
Am waiting for the call from next door, telling me they are up and Santa has visited. We will go see what he brought and then head up on Signal Mtn. to see one of our daughters and her family. She is cooking breakfast for us. After we eat, we will then head northeast to our other daughter's house to see what the Fat Man in the Red Suit left them.
Church Service tonight. Have a wonderful day - just don't forget to thank God for his precious gift.

ReplyDeleteI like the "selfie" (is that legal here in the south ... roflol). :) I grew up with Krystal burgers too. We had one in Titusville, Florida, right there on US Hwy 1 "downtown". I loved their shakes more than anything but I'm a Sweet-a-holic. Hope y'all have a glorious day too! And thank you Lord Jesus for leaving the glories of Heaven that all may know You and be saved from the wrath to come by your grace. Amen. ~:)

I've never heard of Krystal burgers but your family tradition is great. It'll be one of those memories that the grandkids will talk about for years.

Your Krystal looks lots prettier than ours in Cleveland. Is that pic of the burger done in tile work or just a pic? It looks good. We like Krystal occasionally but lately ours has not been good - - - food is cool - - - even when they are super busy.
ReplyDeleteWe have Krystal here in Lakeland, but "up north" it is called White Castle - exactly the same menu. So good, and what a great place to gather! I'm so glad Jim is better and you are getting to enjoy being with everyone!
