The title picture today is about my city; things to do, see, etc. Chattanooga has really come a long way since I moved here in 1957. The downtown area has been re-vitalized, added to, and make tourist and locals alike, enjoy being there.
This is the Riverboat, Delta Queen, that is downtown on the Tennessee River, and is a hotel.
This is one of three bridges downtown that cross the Tennessee River. This is the Walnut Street Bridge, and no longer is a bridge to drive across, but is a walking bridge, and many, many people use it every day. You can walk, ride bikes, walk your dog or just sit and enjoy the scenery.
The three bridges with Lookout Mtn. in the background.
Looking from Lookout Mtn. to downtown Chattanooga.
Have you ever heard of Ruby Falls? It is a waterfall inside Lookout Mtn.
The Tennessee River runs through the entire area.
This is when the Incline was first made and headed up and down Lookout Mtn.
How about Rock City? It is on one side of Lookout Mtn.
Well, you have had the tour!!!
Last night we had a sweet service at church, and then a large majority went over to the fellowship building and some stayed to pray the new year in!
Jim and I just couldn't make it, so we came home after the worship service, but I am sure they had a good time playing games, eating and just having sweet fellowship.
Very nice pictures. May you have an abundantly blessed 2014 sweet Linda. Praying you and Jim both do much better health wise in the new year. Hugs and blessings!
ReplyDeleteI felt like I was there. That was fun! No wonder so many want to move there. Thanks for sharing your city.
ReplyDeleteAnd the new blog background looks super. I need to go change mine. Hopefully mine won't be a headache. Blogger loves to mess up when I'm doing things and making me frustrated! Just like the gray background thingy. I finally just gave up and changed templates. *lol*
God bless. ~:)
I know you will think I am nuts, but I dont know your first name, and would really like to....if you feel comfortable telling me. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful blog. I love the work you have done on it, and I would tip my hat (if I had one) to you for your perseverance.
ReplyDeleteThe photographs that you have posted of Chattanooga are splendid.
Happy New Year to you and Jim.
Hugs and love,
Jackie
I love Chattanooga and you are fully aware I know all about your city, lol. We love the Walnut Street Bridge, their use to be a Christmas store on the other side, I don't think that is there anymore, sad to say. I think it is antique store. Love Coolidge Park, love the carosol. Sigh..there is not one thing not to like..ANYWAYS..thanks for sharing. Blessings
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit your city! It's beautiful, plus I know that nice people lie there!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you got the page fixed. I just sent you an answer to your email.
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures of the city. Isn't there a song about Ruby Falls? Or maybe it was mentioned in a movie. That's so amazing. I'd love to see your city and not just the traffic around us as we pass by. lol
Take care, Linda ... many blessings in the new year. [[[hugs]]]
I'm glad you figured it out, Linda, and am sorry I wasn't helpful at all. Jelly Pages are beautiful, but they are too hard to make changes to so I gave up on them. Happy New Year! Glad you and Jim made it to your church service. We stayed up and saw the ball drop, but were in bed by 12:15! Chattanooga is so beautiful. Next time we are there, I want to see Ruby Falls and Lookout Mountain!!
ReplyDeleteRuby Falls is such a beautiful place!
ReplyDeleteThanks to both Carol and Terri for your help. I wont be using any Jelly Pages for my blog....learned my lesson!
