Good morning to one and all.  The weather seems to be the main topic no matter where you live.  My prayer is that you will all be safe and warm, have enough food to last a few days.  Be sure and fill up some bottles or pans with water, in case the power goes out, you can still have some to drink or cook with, and flush the toilet!

We really had a good time yesterday at Tupelo Honey Cafe.  Will post a few pictures.  To let you know, I had 1 sweet potato pancake, which had cinnamon and sweet potato inside, and a peach butter and pecans on top.  It hung off the plate it was so big and I could only eat 1/4, one of my granddaughters ate 1/4 and she took a full half home to her Dad.  They definitely give you lots and lots of food.

One granddaughter had a breakfast pie!  It was really in a pie crust and had any number of ingredients in it.  My other granddaughter and daughter had omelets with ingredients they liked.  The biscuits were huge and yes, there was a bottle of honey on the table.

This is the web site if you want to see more, especially of their menu.

Church for us this morning, and providing the weather doesn't get too bad, we will go back tonight.

  1. What a fun place to visit! It's pretty nasty here already but we are getting ready to head to church. The really cold air moves in tonight. :(

  2. That looks wonderful!
We are looking at very cold temps the next few days...
Steve went to the store yesterday...all set with bread, milk, eggs, and bananas. : )
    Have a cozy day!

  3. That's all excellent advice about the storm. I've started praying for them too that the storm may not be so severe and everyone be cautious. There's already been too many deaths attributed to this storm system. One plus is the North should have a glorious Spring with lots of flowers this year. And the water tables will be stocked again. They're predicting us to be 18* come Tuesday morning. Hope that's not correct. I'll definitely lose some outside plants if that happens.

I checked out the Main Menu for Tupelo Honey. Fried Green Tomatoes sound good. I haven't had those for ages. Cheesy Grits, Egg Rolls, Wings, Homemade Pimento Cheese & Tortilla Chips ... Oh my heavens, doesn't that all sound so yummy!? Makes one drool. I would have to eat there at least once a week and try everything if it was in the area. It's difficult to find good restaurant food here in SE Georgia. So many here "think" they can cook, but, I beg to disagree. One must flavor with lots of the proper spices to get my attention. :) And there's never enough garlic. No vampires in our home!

Stay warm up there. God bless! ~:)

  4. My mouth is watering! Thanks for the advice..all we have to do is set things outside in the cooler if the electricity went out, lol. (or in the mudroom, lol) --it is dark and cold here today, expecting freezing rain tonight and more snow for the coming days. Have to travel to another town tomorrow, 45 min away for Liam's heart check. ANYWAYS--LOVE PEACH BUTTER! Love apple butter too. Folks up here have no clue what that is, sad to say. Blessings (and continuing prayers)

  5. I really like how downtown Chattanooga has renovated itself over the years. It is a great place to go. The restaurant and menu look wonderful. The prices are what you would expect for the offerings and are competitive with the other businesses in that vicinity.

  6. I'm late getting to blogs. Stayed home today, still trying to beat down this cold I seem to have caught last week. That looks like a good place to meet up, next time we come through Chattanooga! Glad you had a fun outing, and hope your weather hasn't gotten too bad!

  7. I'm late too, trying to catch up with everyone's blogs. The restaurant looks so nice and their menu makes me hungry... some things I've never eaten. Sounds so good.
This winter storm is going down in the history books. It's unbelievable. Right now we're at minus 11° and still falling.
All around us, including our town, is shut down in a level 3 snow emergency. That means only emergency vehicles are allowed on the roads or get arrested. The plows are only working on the main highways. All county roads are drifted closed.
I hope the arctic air in your area moves on east so you won't be so cold for long. Take care.
