SHE DID IT!!!

You have to know how happy I am this morning!  Aryn was fouled the very first play of the game, and she had 2 free throws.  BAM - she hit 1,000 points right away. The game was stopped and she and her coach went to the center of the floor.  The announcer then proceeded to tell what she had accomplished and she was given a special basketball with the imprint on it.

The game then continued and sad to say, her team was behind the entire game.  At times, they were 16 points behind, then 11, and then at the end of the game, they tied the other team. Someone fouled a member of their team and she made one of the foul shots.  The score is now 53-52 and Signal will have the ball.  They were under the opponents goal.  6.5 second left in the game. The ball came in to Aryn and she ran the entire length of the gym, threw the ball up and as the ball hit the rim and went in, the buzzer sounded and they won the game 54-53!!!!  It was a very nerve racking, exciting, fun game, to say the least.  It was her night.
The shot that won the game!

Jim and I said to one another that we probably wont see that happen again in our lifetime...from our grandchildren anyway.

Grayce is not to be left out on the night.  Her volleyball team was playing in the middle school gym, and playing a private girls school that seems to win everything they do.  Not last night......Signal Middle won their games and Grayce was on the front line and able to get the ball over the net several times.  She is just this year learning the game and seems to really love it. We are so proud of her enthusiasm and ability.  She told us that we couldn't come to watch her until she learned to serve better! And on top of that, she was voted 'Most Organized" in the 6th grade class...lol  (and if you knew her, you would know that fits her to a 'T').

I have no other news this morning so I will wish you a happy day and TGIF!  I am way behind in reading blog comments while my computer was down, but hope to catch up today.

  3. Another Congrats for Aryn and Grayce from us! Hope they're winning continues all their lives.

It's funny, now that I'm retired, I don't like weekends at all. Ever since the creation of 4 wheelers I hate weekends. I just know there's going to be a tragic accident with all those underaged kids tearing up and down our dirt roads unsupervised. It's scary. And noisy. Mondays bring blissful silence, and safety, once again.

    Stay warm! ~:)

  9. I'm so glad you got your computer back online. Congratulations to both of your grand-daughters. That certainly was an exciting game for Aryn!!! Your pictures are priceless. Now you'll have to keep us informed about Grayce's progress. That's cute that she doesn't want you to see her until she can serve better. :) I have a feeling that will be very soon.
Have a good weekend. Stay warm. This weather is awful.

  10. Praise God - - - what EXCITING news!!!! That basketball game is one any of us would have loved to watch - - even not knowing the players. It's exciting to see a team come back from behind like that. I am glad that Aryn had such a special night. She worked hard for it. She looks very happy in the pics. Great for Grayce, too. It's hard to have to follow in someone's footsteps but sounds like she is marking her own mark and doing well with it.
