This entry is going to be a bunch of different things I am thinking or doing.
Basketball game tonight for Aryn and we will get to go as it is close to home and not on top of a mountain.
Had a scare with Jim yesterday. I was on the computer and he came to me and 'said my blood pressure is sky high'. Thankfully our doctor had given him a prescription to use if his systolic (top number) got above a certain number. I got the pill for him, and he sat back in his recliner to watch TV and let it work. We checked in 2 hours and it had gone down. Neither of us can think of what caused the spike....old age maybe!
We took our weekly ride through Chickamauga Battlefield, and saw at least 20 deer, and special to Jim is to see a buck with his horns sticking up. We did see one and he was chasing two doe and finally decided which would be his girlfriend for the day!
Speaking of deer, one of our dear cousins (my children's age) has a little boy that has Aspergers syndrome. (Aspergers syndrome is often considered a high functioning form of autism. It can lead to sensitivity, especially sensitive to noises, difficulty interacting socially, repeat behaviors, and clumsiness.) He is 7 years old and went hunting with his Dad yesterday and the picture below shows his accomplishment! (not sure he shot the gun, but he was able to go, and it didn't bother him like some things or I should say, lots of things do. We were all so tickled for him, and for his Dad too. They have really worked with him on everything in his life, so this was very special.
I will wish you a happy Friday.
Very cool about the little boy! I'm glad Jim is ok, will keep him in prayer though.
ReplyDeleteWhat an accomplishment for your cousin's son! What a proud moment for them all! My dad's blood pressure use to do the same thing. It would scare us so much but like Jim did, he would take a pill that the doctor had prescribed and sit in his chair for a bit and it would come down. So happy that Jim is doing better now! The story you posted about President Obama is actually not true. Here is the link to it on Snopes.com: http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/prayerday.asp Have a great weekend, Linda! Good luck to Aryn and her team tonight!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kris, someone had sent to me and I failed to check it out.
ReplyDeleteGood shot, for the little boy. I'm glad he can at least hunt. It's good for kids to be out in nature. Pretty photo of the deer too. It must still be the rut up in Tennessee. I think it's over here in SE Georgia.
ReplyDeleteMy Hubby also has High Blood Pressure. Might wanna get one of those home kits so Jim can be checked regularly. (I think Medicare will pay for it). I'm SO glad his pressure came down. That is scary.
Good luck to Aryn! Hope y'all can attend. Be careful on the roads at night. We'll be praying for you both.
God bless. ~:)
Sparky, we do have a blood pressure kit and we keep on top of his and mine as well. Jim was looking to see if the bucks had lost any of their antlers yet....not yet.
ReplyDeleteYay for the little hunter! I will be sure to show Rhett. : )
ReplyDeleteHave a cozy, healthy weekend, my friend...
Yay for your cousins son. Please keep us updated about Jim. Have a blessed weekend. Blessings (drive safely)
ReplyDeleteYes, I did see your title picture yesterday but forgot to mention it. It is appropriate.
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine the thrill your cousin had with their little boy. Bless his heart.
So glad Jim's doing better. That's a horrible feeling.
Good luck to Aryn and the team tonight. Let us know how they did.
That's a great picture of the deer. I think they're a beautiful animal.
You have a good weekend. Stay safe and warm.
Happy Friday to you and congrats to the little hunter. I prefer to shoot my deer with my camera though lol. It's so exciting to the boy I am sure and something to be proud of
ReplyDeleteHow great to get a deer first time out, where he shot it or his dad did...excellent result! I have noticed your background change, Linda. It is a new look for you, and I like it! It really is easy to change the look or our pages and there are so many options available! Your are so creative and adventurous with yours! Hope it was a good basketball game!! Let us know, please!
