I won't deny that I like to watch football, and that Peyton Manning is one of the all time best quarterbacks, (of course he played for the University of Tennessee) but our Sunday night church service begins at 6 pm, the same time the game does. We will go to church and pick up the game when we get home. Yesterday was another quiet day for us. We sat around, napped and read. Around 3, I decided to make some banana bread, got it in the oven and then we decided when it came out, we would drive through the Chickamauga Battlefield, looking for the deer and eat when we got home. On the way home, we stopped at Arby's and got a couple of beef and cheddar sandwiches to go before our banana bread. I love the days when I don't have to cook. My daughter in law, Stacy, passed both her life and health state exams and is now licensed to sell. She works for American Income Life/National Income Life insurance companies. They are based in Waco, Texas and provide insurance to labor unions, credit unions and associations. American Income Life was founded in 1951. It is definitely an answer to prayer for their family. She and Murphy are both working now and we pray things will get better. They have had quite a struggle for a year now. God is good. I have no other earth shattering news this morning, so will wish you a blessed day.
So glad to hear that God comes before football in your world! We will also go to church today and not even turn on the TV for the Superbowl. Congrats to your DIL in passing her insurance exam. I hope she is very successful and that things go very well for her! Have a blessed Sunday and enjoy the week ahead. P.S. Hubby and I are both history buffs and visited many of the Civil War Battlefields when we lived in the midwest. I would love to go driving through that battlefield you mentioned. I love history! It is so interesting and relevant to our lives today.
I don't watch football no matter what game it is. Congratulations to your daughter-in-law. I forget who it was I saw on either a blog or Facebook, they called their son or daughter -in-laws, son-in-love or daughter-in-love, which i thought was rather cute. I'm with you when it come to fixing meals, sometimes for just two, it's almost cheaper to buy something then prepare a whole meal and have to either have left overs (which my husband isn't fond of) or freeze it for another time. Have a great evening church service.
Congrats for your daughter inlaw. Boo Broncos, after what John Elway said about Tebow, I will never be a Bronco fan. I do like the Manning family and have met Archie when he visited Tuscaloosa, we were at a restuarant, he was doing one of those sport programs for a Sat. game that one of the boys was playing against Alabama. I could careless about the game, I like the commericals, lol.--no church here, icy.
The only reason I would be for the Broncos is because Peyton is QB...otherwise I could care less. I just want that team to win because of his part. I do believe the Manning family has it right.
We aren't football fans so probably won't be watching. I'm happy to hear about your DIL. This should help things turn around for them! We love Civil War history and would really enjoy visiting that battlefield.
Oh, Banana Nut Bread! My favorite! And you didn't call me?! *lol* The sandwiches sound yummy. Arby's does a good job on their Roast Beef. We're having homemade Chicken & Noodles tonight. Congrats to Stacy. Hope she finds a job she'll love really quickly. God bless. ~:)
Praise God on the passing of exams!!! Hopefully she will get paid well enough before having to build up her own sales. Excellent song you posted. One of my favorites.
The game is on, and Joe wants the Broncos to win. I really could care less. I'm watching the commercials, and might watch halftime, if it isn't too ridiculous. Our Arby's closed and a Popeye's Chicken is going in. I LOVE Popeye's, so there is trouble ahead if I'm to watch the carbs. Their Cajun rice is delicious.
