BARE, OR IS IT BEAR, WITH ME?

We are happy grandparents this morning.  Why?   So glad you asked...:-)

The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is one of the largest non-profit volunteer sports organizations in the United States. A multi-sport organization, the AAU is dedicated exclusively to the promotion and development of amateur sports and physical fitness programs.
The AAU was founded in 1888 by William Buckingham Curtis to establish standards and uniformity in amateur sport.[1] During its early years the AAU served as a leader in international sport representing the United States in the international sports federations. The AAU worked closely with the Olympic movement to prepare athletes for the Olympic Games.
There are teams in most sports ranging from 9U to 18U, allowing children to play for championships in sports against other children similar in age and athletic development.

The AAU basketball team that my Aryn plays on, 'The TnXtreme' won the State Championship last night.  Indulge me........

These are all high school age girls!
These girls practice like crazy and work very hard to be where they are.  This is not related to school ball in any way, but is what is considered 'travel' ball.  They each come from different schools in and around the area and are asked to join these teams.  My hat is off to the coaches and players as well.  Hard work DOES pay off!
So, from basketball to soccer.  Grayce, Aryn's younger sister, plays on a travel/summer soccer team and they had been in Atlanta all weekend playing and her team, 'The Storm 02'.....came away champs of the NASA friendship cup!

Dinner for a winner!
Needless to say, we are happy grandparents for these young people.  They are both A students in school and so far, no trouble from either girl.  Good parenting!
Their time really is RIGHT NOW!

Update on Jim:  I came home from church yesterday morning and made a bread pudding and put some pork chops, potatoes, green peas, onions and mushroom soup in the crock pot.  He slept most of the day in his recliner, but when I came in from church last night, he had eaten and said he felt some better.  I am sure his weakness is lack of nourishment, so maybe if I can 'tickle his palet', he will eat a little this week and regain some strength.  Thank you so much for your prayers.
Not a lot on our schedule for this week, but hope you have a good one and you enjoy the warmer weather.

  5. What would our men do without us? I have to entice and/or force my husband to drink enough fluids, take joint supplements, and cook nutritious meals. Otherwise he would eat at Krystal every night. You are a good wife and I am happy to hear it made a difference in your husband.
Congratulation to those beautiful hard-working granddaughters of yours! They deserve it for as much effort as they gave.
