ONE DOWN, ANOTHER COMING QUICKLY!!!
At church last night, I heard 4-5 people say they were glad 'it' was over. Are you? We had the quietest Christmas we have ever had. In years past, it was busy, friends and family coming in and out, cooking, wrapping gifts, etc. This year we had none of that. One person visited, but none of the children. The young ones really made the fun in years gone by, but they have their own friends and family and things to do, so we are low on the list. So, I am one of those that said I was glad it was over.
We do have one more event and it is on Saturday, but not here, at our daughter's house for brunch at 11 AM. We will do our chinese exchange for the adults and the grandchildren will open their gifts. Since I haven't finished shopping, guess I better get to it today or tomorrow huh?
Sisters got new RayBan sunglasses from one of their cousin's fiance' as she works for RayBan!!!
Guess if I am going to put supper in the crockpot, I had better get busy. Wishing you a nice 'day after'.

I'm not sure if I would say glad it was over with..but..ours was just as quiet. First time in years. Siblings (husband) still fighting, my family is over 1,000 miles away..and now our son is no longer a child. I would say more..sadness then anything. --Have a Blessed day..
ReplyDeleteMaybe sadness is a good way to describe it. I am an only child and all of my relatives are gone; Jim's parents and sister also gone, and all we really have are our children and grandchildren. We do have a loving church family tho, and I am thankful for them.
DeleteIt is kind of sad, but the memories of Christmases gone before are warm in my heart. I miss the noise and laughter and fun of days gone by, too.
ReplyDeleteI miss the little ones and all the excitement of past years too. The girls look good in their RayBans.
ReplyDeleteI love the little guy with the hair. lol My mornings come in size 2. hahaha
Hope you're having a great day.
Ours was really quiet this year and not by choice. No visitors at all. I kinda miss the family gatherings we used to enjoy in Florida but now so many are passed, too far away or are not speaking. We are expecting guests on New Years, so, that'll be cheerful.
ReplyDeleteI'm an only child too. My parents bought (adopted) me in the 1950s. Long story ... :)
I have the same philosophy about mornings as the little guy does. I used to be just the opposite though because I'm not much of a Night Owl. Old age and aches sure changes one.
I like this blog background. Guess I'd better change mine! God bless. ~:)
we had a quiet one too, I think I like those kind now as I get older. Hope you have a blessed new year.
