August 13th

43 years ago today, I was in the hospital and had just delivered my first child, a little girl, whose hair stuck straight up, and had a "stork mark" on her forehead.  After they got me to my room, I looked up and here came my Mother with a balloon bouquet, followed by my husband, and they were all smiles.

Jim and I had been married for 5 years before we had our first child, and she was so much joy and gave us such happiness, that less than two years later, we had another girl, and again, less than two years, we had our son.  I can honestly say that being a Mother has absolutely been the best thing in my life.

I have been an RN, I have been an insurance agent, I have been a secretary to a branch manager, but being a Mother tops them all!  It is also the hardest job I have had, but well worth it in the long run.

Leigh Stayton Eller weighed 7.3 and was 19 inches long.  She is named Leigh for her great grandfather Lee Eller, and Stayton for her great grandmother, as it was her maiden name.  I have the same middle name, Linda Stayton as does one of Leigh's girls...Stayton Grayce.  We just carried on the tradition.

Leigh has grown into a wonderful Mother, Wife, RN, worker-bee (she is never still and can multi task like no one else I know),and friend.  She married a fine man and together they have a wonderful marriage and family.  The picture above is Leigh as a senior in high school.  She was a cheerleader all four years, and her senior year, they won the state competition.  And to be honest, she looks pretty much the same today, with maybe a teeny bit of pounds added!  (whew, glad she cant see this..lol)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Leigh Stayton Eller Sanders!!!

  2. Happy Birthday to Leigh. She shares her b'day with my niece Janelle. Awesome posting about your daughter :) I think it's neat that they got to wear their name on the cheer-leading uniform.
