COUNTING DOWN........
Time is flying by. Are you ready? All the gifts bought and wrapped and under the tree, or mailed? I can say mine are all bought, but not wrapped and can't put under the tree until the day we gather. Cali would make "doodle dust" (an old expression that my Mother used to make) of them.
Mr. Sciatica is still visiting and my left hip and leg are not enjoying entertaining him very much. We must go on and not let him whip us though!
My laundry needs me and can't put it off too much longer. I can stand on my right leg to load the washer, and may have to drag a chair out to the dryer to unload. I thought sure the laundry fairy would take over, but so far, nada!

I love your cheerful background !! Thank you!!! Sorry to hear about your sciatica pain. Hope you feel better. We had the same tradition of waiting. I have one pic of dad catching the looks on our faces as we opened our eyes to see what was under the tree. Still a favorite :) I carried the tradition with my kids. It's hard to believe that Christmas is so near!! Have a good week :)
ReplyDeleteI understand sciatica pain, currently I have mine in good shape, but I've been where you are. I hope yours is better soon.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of the sciatica pain. Hopefully you have some healing soon. Prayers are being sent up. What a fun tradition for you to have growing up. :) Growing up we couldn't open our presents until everyone was up. Then we went around and took turns opening up presents one at a time and whoever was the gift opener had all eyes on them. We were all just as excited to see what each other got as if it were our own present. My Mom always made sure we had the same number of gifts so everyone had the same amount of turns. Of course we were so excited for our own turn again, but I love that my parents raised us to respect each other and to take turns and focus on each other. It was not chaotic on Christmas morning with wrapping paper being thrown every which way and no idea who got what. Growing up in a family of six I'd say that is pretty impressive to not have a chaotic morning on Christmas. :)
ReplyDeleteWe also have the tradition that no one can go into the family room until everyone is awake. We always see the gifts for the first time together as a family. It sounds like you had it made by being surrounded by 5 adults! I bet there was a lot of love in that house for you!
