Twice a year they have a huge cake sale. My daughter called yesterday and said she had bought 6 cakes, and two were for us! One is a caramel apple, one a 5 flavor, and she gave us a piece of her caramel cake. My goodness I wish you could have a piece of all three - they are wonderful.
Looks like 'someone', whose name shall remain anonymous, has gotten into the 5 flavor and caramel.
I felt better yesterday and Jim continues to be better as well, so when we both are on the same wave length, we get out and run our errands, grocery shop and always to CVS for prescription refills.
I like bakeries and the cakes look SO good. We just lost our one and only bakery. They'd been on Main St. for 75 yrs. But it got to where they couldn't compete any longer with the grocery stores and Wal Mart. It was so sad to see them close.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to hear you and your hubby are feeling better. I pray that continues. Have a good day.
So glad that you both are doing better....
ReplyDeleteAnd YUMMMM!
Those cakes do look so delicious.
Love,
J.
So glad you and Jim are both feeling better, Linda!! Of course, cake has a way of being somewhat medicinal, perhaps?! ;) They look scrumptious!!
ReplyDeleteOne of our independent bakeries closed last year, but they were too pricey for us, anyway. There are only chains left now, but they are good, so we don't complain. And of course, there are our trips to Mazzaro's over in St. Pete, and Hella's in Tarpon Springs. Definitively worth the trips!
There is nothing like the smell of bread baking! The cakes sound yummy!
ReplyDeleteI love a good bakery!
ReplyDeleteMade my mouth water as I looked at those cakes. There was a bakery on the way to church when I was a little girl, the aromas were wafting in the air as we would drive by, all I could think of was fresh baked bread.
