1) A young man (15 years old) in my church, went to get his learner's permit to drive this week. He failed because he didn't know enough about drugs and alcohol! What?? We try so hard to teach our children to avoid drugs and alcohol in any shape or form, and he can't get his license because he doesn't know enough about them. An oxymoron to me.
2) My 6 year old grandson had a friend who was in an accident and had to be flown to the local Children's Hospital. Jesse (my grandson) was so concerned. He had come over to tell us about it, and told me to 'pray' for his friend. Not only that, but the day it happened in school, he got down on his knees in his classroom and prayed for the friend. The teacher told my daughter in law that it was the sweetest experience she had had as a teacher and if her job wasn't in jeopardy, she would have gotten down with him. We are so happy that Jesse isn't ashamed to pray ANYWHERE. Isn't it a shame that a teacher can't do that in this great country that was built on 'In God We Trust'?
3) My Aryn's volleyball team won the Region tournament and now they play for what is called sub-State on Thursday night. They are fortunate to have a girl that is a junior, and 6'2",on their team and she already has a scholarship to the University of Florida in volleyball. She is on the front line and is super good. Aryn plays Libero and plays the back row, and she had 36 digs and 4 aces.
4) Rain is moving in and due to begin this evening. It has been sunny and dry for a long time and now we need the rain and cooler temps to turn the leaves their glorious colors.
5) My daughter in law still loves her new job and we are so thankful she is working now. Please continue to pray that my son can find work soon. He is getting so discouraged.
Will end today saying we have church prayer service tonight and I always look forward to that. Have a nice day.
1. Really? Wow! I had no idea about the permit issue. I do not believe that was even on the Alabama test. We are waiting to change our licenses in, as long as the boy stays in school we get to keep the tags & our licenses, considered non resident. Too expensive to change anyways-plus they have a inspection here.
ReplyDelete2. Will continue to keep your grandsons friend in prayer. Liam is the same way, let me tell you, the bottom line for the bully was that Liam was praying at lunch. That's how it got started.
3. Good luck to your grandaughter. Please keep us updated.
4. Rain here in the great NE. Cooler temps, still cool I should say. Ole' man winter will be coming soon, I am afraid.
5. Prayers for your dil and son. I will continue to keep them in prayer.
Blessings
Praying for Jesse's friend....
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet young man Jesse is; it shows that he has been raised correctly, that he loves the Lord, and that he loves his fellow man.
I'm glad that your daughter in law loves her job. That makes going to work so nice...to love one's job. I also pray that your son finds the job that the Lord has for him.
Hugs to you and your family,
Jackie
That's ridiculous about his failing the test because of that. As you said, it is an oxymoron.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet that Jesse knew exactly what to do. It is sad that the teacher couldn't show support or even have the class join him. I hope his friend will be alright.
Congratulations to Aryn and her team. Good job. Keep me informed.
Praying your son finds work soon. I'm glad your daughter-in-law likes her job.
Have a good evening.
1. Sign of the times: when I applied for my learner's permit, we didn't get quizzed on drugs. Sad that it has come to that.
ReplyDelete2. Good for Jesse, and I prayed too. I'll betchya teacher prayed in her heart (just as good). SHAME ON OUR SCHOOLS for hating God and then teaching that to our children. This is not the schools we grew up with. I wouldn't let the government raise my child. Period.
3. Congrats to Ayrn! You go girl!
4. Please send rain and cooler weather our way? It's warmed up and dry as powdered toast in SE Georgia. Doesn't feel like October anymore. :(
5. Congrats to the dau.-in-law too! And I pray Son will be blessed with gainful employment soon. Been there, done that, I know how frightening it is to worry about money.
I like the Hillbilly 10 Commandments. The government would do well to remember #9 - No swipin' yer kinfolks stuff. TAXING to give to the undeserving is STEALING.
God bless. ~:)
Your Jesse is such a sweet child! God bless him, and how nice that his teacher told your DIL about it. I will also add prayers for his classmate. Aryn's team is amazing! Thanks for the update on that! Murphy remains in my prayers, too, Linda.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that about the permit. Crazy times we are in. Then I read about your Jesse and it encourages me so much. I know you are so proud of him.
ReplyDeleteI love your header!
