CUTIE PIE!

Did you smile when you saw my title picture?  I did.

We did go to the ballgame and we took Jesse, our grandson, with us.  His parents were worried that he would give us a hard time.  He did not give us one second of trouble and seemed to enjoy being there. Signal Mtn. won the game.

The girl with me was on the other team.  She belongs to our church, is originally from Michigan, and is a senior this year. Her family moved back to Michigan last year and she has been here all year alone. Since she is a senior, she wanted to graduate with her class at her school here. She lives with her boyfriend's family.  He is away at college.  She has 4 step sisters and her step Dad is in prison on drug charges.  She is the sweetest girl and always comes to me wherever we see one another and hugs me, as she did last night.  My heart goes out to this girl and I commend her for being the strong young lady she has become.  She asked me last night to come to Senior night this Friday at her school.  She said her Mother and one sister would be there and would love to see me.  I can't not go, can I?

There is another game tonight but I don't think we will get to go.  Since my son and daughter in law are both working now, we will be helping them by keeping Jesse.  It is supposed to start raining and be heavy overnight.  As I have said, it is hard for me to drive at night in snow or rain and up and down a mountain!

I finally got an album and will be working to put all my Postcrossing cards in it today. Other than that and laundry, that is my day.

  2. What a sweet young lady, and how wonderful she looks to you as a friend and role model.

Enjoy your day. I have laundry to put away. Ugh. Peyton is my folder, but I am the putter away er. : )

We are getting snow tomorrow...almost 10 inches!

  4. Hi Linda! What a sweetheart of a young girl! So happy that she was able to rise above her circumstances and stay strong. What a blessing that her boyfriend's parents are letting her live with them! I think it's awesome how special you are to her...I would have to say that you would really be missed if you didn't go to her senior night event. Have a great week!!

  5. That last picture still has me gigging! That's the way I looked this last weekend.
I'm glad y'all had fun. That's a shame that girl's step-dad is in prison. How sad. I pray she can stay strong. God bless. ~:)

  6. What a blessing for you and your young friend!! I can't wait to hear about her senior night and your visit with her and her family. Jesse is so handsome!! I'm sure he enjoyed being at the game with you and his grandpa. It's so good that his folks are both working again! Praise God. Love the dog in glasses - yes, it made me smile, too!

  9. That picture of the washer is funny! It sounds like the postcards will be your reward work in between the loads of laundry. Praise God you are there for your grandson while both parents are working - - - another Praise God! And Praise HIM, too, for the part you have played in the young woman's life from your church. Hopefully she will always have encouragers like you in her life. She is made of some tough stuff.
