Last night all of my children and spouses, children, and some extras, came with an ice cream cake, to wish Jim, who is Dad and Granddad, a Happy Father's Day.
One of my children and her family are leaving early tomorrow morning for a vacation/business trip to Florida, so they all got together and decided to celebrate early so that everyone could be here. Jim was surprised and seem to be happy they were here. They didn't stay long, so as to not tire him, but the time was well spent.
The kids got a kick out of their Paw-Paw's sweet potato that he is growing int he kitchen. They had never seen one inside and didn't know you could grow them in the house...
Today is free - no appointments - no shopping - nothing but a day to do exactly what we want to do and I sure look forward to it. Our Dr. ordered physical therapy from a home health agency that my daughter used to work for, and they are to call on Tuesday to schedule appointments for them to come and work with Jim. At least we don't have to leave home to do that and am hoping it will help him regain some strength in his legs.
I leave you with a sweet................
Dunkin Donuts next week will debut a new breakfast sandwich made from a glazed doughnut, egg and bacon, mixing the sweet doughnut with bacon-y goodness.
Would you eat one of those?
Oh my, at the doughnut sandwich! I don't thing I would enjoy it. A doughnut by itself, with the bacon and egg on a plate I could do. Not sure about the sandwich.
ReplyDeleteSo great that everyone was together to celebrate Father's Day!! Love the photos, and thanks for sharing them!
Enjoy your day, Linda!!
As for the sandwich, I don't think I'd like the sweet with the bacon and egg. Separately is good, not together.
ReplyDeleteI like your photos. So sweet of the kids to all come "party" with Jim. Your kids look like my family -- the oldest is the shortest and the 'baby' grew so much taller. It looks like my brother, my sister and me.
My mother grew a sweet potato in the kitchen, in an old glass pitcher. The vine grew so long, she wrapped it up over the window and down the other side. When I got out on my own, I tried to do the same, but I killed it.
I hope you and your Hubby have a good day off. Take care. ♥
I am so glad they did this - it doesn't matter what day you celebrate it as long as everyone is there - plus love! sandie
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of your family - I'm glad you all had the time together to celebrate. No on the sandwich :-P
ReplyDeleteI really like the family picture! As for the donut sandwich - I don't think it's for me. :)
